Green flags, red flags

Scrolling for a student deal on the bus? Here's how a real pass looks next to a page that just wants the click.

Green flags

  • It says what you get: a member number and an expiry date.
  • It is free to claim, and it tells you about the one check before you begin.
  • It is honest that ticket prices are still set event by event.

Red flags

  • "Half price on every Ticketmaster ticket" with no event given.
  • A page that asks you to pay before it shows what you receive.
  • A long list of codes where each has expired.

Where this comes from

Every small number on this page opens a note. Here they are all in one spot.

  1. Ticketmaster Help says student discounts, when an event has them, are part of that event's ticket type options; with no student info listed, it sends you to the venue.
  2. The Student Pass, its member number, its valid-through date and the $1,000 entry come from the page behind the Claim button, which shows them before you turn anything on.
Ticketmaster Help Does Ticketmaster offer student ticket prices? Where student prices appear, and who to ask when an event lists none.
Ticketmaster Help: when an event offers student prices, they are one of its ticket types. No student info? Reach out to the venue, found under More Info on the event page.
The pass page behind the Claim button gives the member number and the valid-through date, and puts every pass in for a shot at $1,000 to spend at Ticketmaster.
